You might need to hear this today...
If you don't love it, don't eat it. If you love it, savor it!
Life is too short to eat foods that you don't like/love!
Eating boring or bland foods ain't where it's at. Am I right, or Am I right?
Eating only Franken foods or health-ifying everything you eat is not a sustainable way to approach your nutrition. Even if the goal is fat loss. You don't have to make yourself eat that stuff. I say "make" because you really have to force yourself to eat those things most of the
time.
Still, we think we have to suffer to reach goals. If we aren't suffering, then it's not working. False!
“Candace, but I need to lose weight.”
Well, that ain't it. That ain't the way, IMO.
There is nothing inherently wrong with eating healthified foods, but if that's the only way you enjoy a treat or non-bland meal, that's not a healthy or sane way to approach sustainable long-term nutrition.
That's why every few weeks, you're starting over again because it didn't work. You can't stick to it because it's too restrictive, lacks joy, lacks satiety, lacks nourishment - although you might be eating clean as you can be.
Inevitably you will binge. Mow down the pantry, if you will.
You think it's your fault when it's not. The diet industry's influence is powerful. Their marketing tactics play to your fears and insecurities. They know you will keep coming back for more.
Fitting yourself into that box of eating that doesn't serve you well never works long-term.
Your nutrition plan should work for you, not against you.
The longer you deprive and deny yourself of the foods that you enjoy, the harder the fall will be. Again, this is inevitable.
You don't have to eat everything cauliflowerified, foods you don't love, or ban the foods you love to see body change.
Incorporating the foods that you love will actually help you when you're improving your nutrition and/or if you are in a fat loss phase.
Suffering and white-knuckling through won't work for long.
You gotta love how you eat for it to be sustainable.
One mo time...
If you don't love it, don't eat it. If you love it, savor it!
