Exercise is not a punishment for what you ate! PERIODT!!
STRONG friend, I hope you are in or at least moving towards a better relationship with yourself, your body, and the food that you eat!
It's worth the time and effort to heal yourself, so keep on keeping on. #FoodFreedom
You SHOULD NEVER feel guilty for overindulging, if you do at holiday meals. Btw, it's totally normal to overeat from time to time, we are not robots, and you're not bad for doing so. We are human!
Food never holds any moral value. If some guru says that it does, they need to kick rocks, lol! They are just perpetuating disordered eating, which a lot of folks wear as a badge of honor. 🤮
Holidays are meant for food, love, connection, celebration, and memories. Food is all those things too!
Holidays ain't going nowhere; it's part of our human experience.
Be fully present with your loved ones. Enjoy yourself, have fun, and don't get caught up in the nonsense that diet culture spews.
And STRONG friend holidays gatherings/meals are 1 or 2 meals/days out of many meals over weeks and the year. Do not stress it. What good is the stress going to do anyways?!!! NOTHING!
If you happen to go overboard...
- First, ditch the beating up of oneself!
- Two, explore why you're eating like you never be able to eat again. Hint, Hint, it has a lot to do with how restrictive you are as a whole all year round - between holiday events and such.
- Three, starving yourself, undereating, and doing excessive exercise to erase what you ate is the wrong way to approach your fitness, wellness, health, and mental state. Don't do it!
- Give yourself some grace, love, and respect. Excessive exercise is a form of punishment; it's not a form of self-respect. Respect yourself, STRONG friend. You are worth it; you are worthy!
- The following day - post-holiday meal we simply return to how we normally eat. Ya, know, eating our veggies, eating our fruit, eating balanced meals with plenty of protein, drinking water, sleeping well, daily movement, etc.
- AND while I have you here - it's time to stop being so damn restrictive so that you know how to eat ALL foods on any occasion that you love without feeling guilt, shame, or ridicule.
Well, alright, alright, alright, that's that!
Love you, STRONG friend. I hope your Thanksgiving is amazing, filled with love and memories.
Thanks for reading! Have a good one!
In Strength & to your Success,
