I'm willing to bet there are a few things you wish you had known along your health & wellness journey. Am I right or Am I right?
I could probably fill a few pages full of things I wish I had known, lol.
Without those experience I probably wouldn't be the coach that I am today. So, I guess it wasn't all for nothing.
Let's dive in...
Today, we shall talk about 8... 8 things I wish I had known about cutting carbs out of my diet.
1. Eating low Carbs just means that you are just holding less water in the body, that is all.
Carbs get stored in the body in the form of glycogen. And each gram of glycogen holds approx—3 g of water.
2. When you cut your Carbs, you notice a big swoosh of weight loss because you are eating less Carbs, less Carbs, less water.
It’s not fat loss, so don’t get it twisted. You lost water weight. There is a difference between losing water weight and actually losing bad fat.
3. Eating less Carbs doesn’t make you leaner; it makes you weaker, fatigued, tired, less muscle growth, no muscle pump, just to name a few.
4. Eating low Carb can jack up a woman’s hormones -
Low-Carb diets cause an increase in cortisol production, which can negatively impact your thyroid!
5. Going low Carb for too long is a huge stressor on the body, especially when you combine it with all the exercise that a lot of women tend to do. More is better, right. No, better is better!
6. If you like or want the jacked, swole, muscular look, visible muscle definition/separation…
Carbs play a huge role in muscle fullness along with sodium and water.
7. If you are a woman who lifts the heavy things and cares
about performance in the gym, recovery, getting STRONG AF,
setting PRs, want fuller muscles...
You should eat your Carbs and I don’t should about a lot of things, but this is one of them!
8. Carbs are not the enemy! They are your friend. You should not fear them! Carbs don’t make you fat, too many calories do overtime.
If you made it this far...
I sure do wish some had told me about the goodness of carbohydrates and of course what happens when you cut them out of your diet. No one told me about the things I mentioned above!
I literally didn’t eat em for years; I had fears too. Not anymore!
The information was wrong, hurtful and created a disordered relationship with food and fitness for many years. Until I said enough was enough!
I used to be scared of strawberries, like what the voodoo quackery! LMAO!!
Fear-mongering at its finest.
You don't need to ban carbs!
STRONG friend, don’t fear the carbs! You can eat them, enjoy them, have them daily, and still hit all kinds of goals! You won’t be hating life!
So, what is one thing you wish you had known along your journey? Hit reply and share away!
Thanks for reading, STRONG friend. Have a great rest of your week!
