Hey, hey, ! Happy Monday, Happy Halloween! 🎃
STRONG friend, it really comes down to what you do MOST of the time! << That’s what you do instead!
One off's, two off's, or even three off's, holiday meals, celebrations, parties, etc., are not gonna make you or break you unless you make that choice!
So...
- When you miss a
planned lift - you do it the next day.
- Miss your daily walkie - you get it in the next day!
- When you miss a day or two of eating vegetables - you get some vegetables on the plate the very next day!
When you enjoy Brisket Biscuit, Chix on a stick, and fried Reese Cup - surprisingly delicious, oh, and a few bites of funnel cake and a few fries - this was me the other day at the Pensacola State Fair.
I had the best time with my sweet friends and hubby, Jeff. We laughed, we played, and we ate some fun and delicious
treats - we shared them too!
I got back to my typical ways of eating the very next day!
These precious moments, times, and events with friends and family we don't get back.
Things like...
- Ice cream with your family.
- Fair or amusement park food with your friends and family.
- Your mom's homemade spaghetti.
- Candy on Halloween with your loved ones while watching scary movies!
- Friendsgiving with your friends, Thanksgiving Dinner with your family, etc.
- Christmas parties and everything in between.
We get back to our normal routines the very next day!
We know that we don't eat these things all day, every day, all the time if we
choose to have them.
These are moments we can never get back. These times with loved ones should be beautiful and not riddled with food anxiety, regret, shame, or guilt!
Life is so short; enjoy the treat, keep calm and carry on -
(remember those memes, lol)?!
All is never lost.
You are not a bad person or weak.
You don't
have to make up, attempt to burn those meals off or earn your food the next day.
There are 365 days in a year . Let that sink in! Again, it's what you do most of the time.
Consider this,
STRONG friend - What are you doing outside of the holidays and such? Again, that's what matters MOST!
If you have solid habits in place, consistent lifting practice, and other healthy habits throughout the year... I bet you are less likely to be derailed from your everyday routines for too long during various holidays and such. You get right back on
the proverbial track like you never miss a beat.
Because it's a Choice!
Holidays, celebrations, and gatherings are not going anywhere. Food is always going to be available and very abundant. Yes, and I am so
glad! 💃🏾🙌🏾
These events, holidays, and whatnot don't or won't make or break your physique and health goals when they are one-offs! It doesn't work like that!
Just like one day of "good" eating won't make you lean overnight!
Or, just like one lift session won't make you STRONG AF.
So, don't let these off days here and there think all is lost or that you messed up!
If you let your emotions drive the car in the wrong direction. That is the problem.
Which most women do.... all or nothing, F-it, why even bother, etc.
Feel the feels and work through your relationship with food so that you're not in this place of despair after every overindulgence or missed lift!
Do you want to spend
every holiday, celebration, gathering, etc., feeling bad about what and how much you ate year after year?
I'm thinking not so much!
I'll leave that there. Hit reply and let me know your 2 cents!
Have a great week, STRONG friend!
In Strength & to Your Success,
Xo
Candace
P.S. It is Halloween, after all. Happy Halloween - Eat the candy, treat, or don't. The choice is always yours.
Decide from an empowered place with grace. It's not diet culture speak or mentality if you just don't want the treat. You get to choose always! Don't allow anyone to make you ever feel bad or steal your joy about your
choices.
