Hi, ! Yes, don't worry about the burning of calories. Your smartwatch is a big liar, FYI! Our
smart watches' calorie burn fudges how much we are truly burning.
Focusing on the calorie burn is not a long-term solution.
It's an uphill battle. It makes a lot of folks neurotic. No Bueno!
You don't usually get far with the mindset that I must burn as many calories as possible. Maybe in the short term, but not long term.
It's unproductive. It’s defeating.
Focusing on the calorie burn leads to you adding more and more of the wrong exercise like
HIIT classes, boot camps, F-45, Orange Theory, etc.
Let me just say that there's nothing inherently wrong with those forms of exercise per se, but they won't build the body the way real strength training will.
Yes, the fitness classes mentioned above use weights, but it's primarily cardio with little to no progressive components that lead to muscle-building or getting strong. Most likely, you'll end up with nothing to show for all the work you've been doing in those classes.
Also, those high-intensity levels of exercise make you hungrier and irritable and leave you burned out. In addition to that, no muscle and no strength. Am I right, or Am I right?!
And, if you were anything like me at one point in time, it created a disordered relationship with exercise.
The best workouts don't always burn that many calories!
Yes, that means strength training ain't for burning calories. Strength training is so much more. It's literally for building up your body, muscles, bones, metabolism, and confidence, to name a few.
Building your body, toning your body, gaining muscle, and increasing your strength is a process that requires the right type of lifting & the right mindset about lifting!
Muscle growth is a WHOLE long process. Don't make it longer by doing the wrong
things.
With that said, if you're really ready to build your body up, not burn it or burn yourself out, STRONGER Way has your name written on it. New Month, New Gainz!
