Hey, hey !
Happy Friday!
My
email this week started out short and sweet, then grew way too long for any email. 😆 I tried to make it short! Didn't happen!
So, here's a short summary...
If you're interested in reading more about common misconceptions about dieting and building muscle and how to do it right, head on over to the full blog post - Stop White-Knuckling Your Way Through Your Diet: A Better Approach to Fat
Loss.
It's a take on the way we think we should do things or that have done for our fitness & nutrition journey. But when we know better, we do better! If you don’t know how to do things better, I got you!
My blog highlights the importance of prioritizing protein intake, maintaining your muscle mass during a fat-loss phase, and having an exit plan after the fat-loss phase. Notice the word phase.... we aren't supposed to be there forever, even if you still have fat to lose.
I also discuss the importance of taking a moderate approach to dieting with a focus on sustainable habits and incorporating weight training. It is of utmost importance to hold on to your muscle, and if you go into an extreme cut, you will lose muscle, and that is not a good thing!
I also emphasize
that muscle is crucial for a healthy metabolism, and I advise on how to come out of a diet phase smartly to maintain progress.
And last but least, when it comes to approaching your body change goals it is important to go into it with the long haul mentality and avoid the extreme approaches to your diet and
fitness!
This body change thing takes time. It's not a 12-week or 16-week transformation! #LongHaulMentality
