Hey, hey, !
STRONG friend, it doesn't take much change to make a change. In other words, you don't need to change 101 things at once.
You don't have to go from zero to 100!
This quote sums up the way to roll when it comes to goals and things...
Slowly is the fastest way to get where you want to be." ~ Andre' De Shields
If you struggle to stay consistent with your goals, always off and on the track, or always losing the same weight over and
over...
If you're always rushing and only focusing on the outcome, there's a very, very high chance the methods you use are not sustainable.
If so...
It might be time to evaluate your life choices.
The methods and the
changes you have implemented aren't working, so they need re-working.
At first glance, you probably had success, which makes you think it worked.
So, in your mind ... if it worked, you're like, "I just have to try harder and grind it out!" << Literal words out of many client's mouths.
Trying harder, ain’t it. Trying harder usually means another round of heavy restriction.
Then you are off the track again. That track ain’t the one for you because you can’t stay consistent with it.
STRONG friend, if it worked SUCCESSFULLY - with an emphasis on successfully, you wouldn't be struggling and would be able
to maintain the track you're on, the weight lost, and the habits you created.
Ask yourself these two questions...
- Can I be consistent with the plan at least 80-90% of the time?
- Can I do what I'm doing for the rest of my life to maintain the results?
If the answer is a NO, then you know the rest. Don't set yourself up to not win.
Make a plan that will have you winning!! A plan that will be successful. A plan that is sustainable. A plan that you can stay consistent with for the long haul!
Sustainability is the name of the game!
A client of mine is doing exactly that - a sustainable approach to her goals.
Over the last month, she has been winning! Her consistency is on point.
We have only changed one nutrition
thing.
And that nutrition habit change is PROTEIN! In which she said "It is making a huge difference!"
And for movement - a minimum step goal of 7K a day. This was a minor change because she was already getting a good amount of steps in before we started. She
trains 3x a week. We changed nothing else. That's it!
We don't even have a specific focus on weight/fat loss yet, but with those two things, we have movement in the scale without extremes or changing eleventy billion things at once. She is down 10 lbs. By increasing her protein, she’s naturally eating less. Protein is a game-changer!
It goes to show you
that Protein is KING! The side effect of that one change in nutrition made a big impact. Protein is very, very filling! It keeps you full and balanced between meals and reduces cravings, just to name a few.
