Hey, hey ! Happy Fri-yay! 💃🏾
Would you drink an oatmeal and lime juice smoothie daily if you could lose 40 lbs in 2 months?
I'm
pretty sure you wouldn't. Sadly, there are people who would drink this to lose weight.
A lot of people will do just about anything to lose weight fast whether's that 10, 15, 20 or 40 lbs. 10/10, I do not recommend it.
If this is your first time hearing about this craze, that's a good thing, STRONG friend. Run
for the hills! It means you're not falling for quick fixes.
And if you are looking to lose weight, then you want a healthy, more sustainable approach to losing body fat.
I'm also willing to bet you aren't here on my email list for quick fixes, because you know I don't offer anything of that
sort.
We don't do quick fixes here!
So, this drink is called OATzempic - a smoothie of sorts (oats, lime juice, and water made into a smoothie)! 🤮
The name plays on the drug Ozempic, which was initially created for
Type 2 Diabetics, but is now also being used as a weight loss drug.
OATzempic, or any fast rapid weight loss food/plan/protocol/diet can be harmful to our bodies. Quackery like this in the nutrition and fitness space is very harmful and very disordered.
Lol, one week, oatmeal is killing you, and the next
week, here, drink this oatmeal smoothie to lose weight. It's cray, cray! Make it make sense! 🤦🏾♀️
Not only that, but the results are also very, very short-lived. They are not a sustainable way to lose weight.
When we stop doing quick weight loss, we will regain the weight plus some, which for most of us
starts the yo-yo weight loss cycle. I say "WE" because I have also tried my fair share of quick fixes over the years.
Losing weight too fast results in:
- Losing too much muscle mass - no bueno!
- Bone density loss - no bueno as
well!!
- Brittle nails and loss of hair
- Loss of menstrual cycle
- Very low energy
- Sleep issues
- Loose skin
- Mood swings
- Inability to regulate body temperature
- Disordered eating
- Eating disorders
- Digestive issues
- Overactive thyroid
- Weight rebound
Just to name a few! That's a long list, right? That's just the start of it.
Instead of resorting to extreme diets that involve severe calorie restriction or elimination of entire food groups, consider a more sustainable, balanced lifestyle. This approach not only promotes fat/weight loss but also ensures your overall well-being.
Contrary to the OATzempic smoothie, oatmeal is a delicious, healthy, and filling option for fat loss and an overall healthy breakfast. It's rich in fiber, which keeps you feeling full and satisfied, allowing you to enjoy your meals without feeling deprived or hungry.
This OATzempic smoothie will have you feeling hungry in an hour or less because it is not filling. Like,
where is the protein???? Where is the fruit or other additives to help you stay fuller longer?
You'll be mowing down the pantry, looking for something else to eat. Build your bowl of oatmeal STRONG. Even if you like to put oats in your smoothie—I do—make sure you also make it filling!
A few weeks ago, I shot a Reel talking about OATzempic, lol. I discussed how to make a delicious, filling bowl of oatmeal. I love oatmeal! How about you?
Check that reel out here! Warning you, it will make you cackle! 😝
