STRONG friend!! Happy June! Happy Tuesday!
How was May for you? What wins did you have? Small, big, and anything in between, celebrate it all! It all counts. Love to hear it. Hit reply and share away!
My win for May was getting in at least one day of rolling 🛼 a week. I missed one week; it was a challenge finding rinks as we traveled across remote areas of Canada to Alaska. I'm in
Alaska now for the summer!
So, instead of calling it a bust, I switched my wheels to outdoor wheels, skated outside on any smooth surface I could find, and made do (something is better than nothing)!
When you love skating, skate heads are always looking for the "best" skating spots when you can't get it in at the rink. 😝💀
There's a basketball court in little Ole Fort Nelson, CA, and I had it all to myself - the court was smooth and had
the same ground/flooring as tennis ball courts.
Check out my skate moves here! I have come a long way. One day, I'll have to compile the before and after of my rolling/doing skate dance moves. It's night and day. As you know, easy is earned!
Anywho, let's get into it!
First,
if you are new here, welcome! I send this monthly recap of the most valuable posts that my STRONG community has found helpful on the Gram!
There is a little summary for each MVP. If you'd like to read the full post, they are all hyperlinked and will take you directly to the post.
1- Here's what I'd actually focus on if I wanted to see muscle!
If you want visible muscle and real results, you’ve got to lift heavy for YOU weights, not just do endless circuits with itty bitty weights.
Focus on compound movements like squats, pulls, pushes, and deadlifts using challenging loads that actually
make your muscles work.
Prioritize rest between sets, fuel your body with enough food (especially protein), and train with a progressive structured lifting plan.
Cardio can be sprinkled in, but muscle-building needs to come first. Build the muscle before you cut, so when it’s time to reveal it, the tone will be toning!
