Hey STRONG friend, Happy Saturday!
When is life not doing the most? Asking for a friend, lol! 😝
This time of year, things get wild with work, family, and holidays. And too many folks hit pause on their fitness until the “busy season” is over.
It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Something is always better than nothing. I’d rather you train a little than stop for over the next couple months.
So, what can you do when time is tight? Glad you asked.
1. Focus on the main lifts of your workout.
If you’re on a program as you should be, do
the first three or four exercises, your compound lifts.
Leave the accessory or isolation work for later. The big compounds give you the most bang for your buck when you're short on time!
2. Split your workouts.
Short on time? Do half today and the other half tomorrow. Main lifts one day, accessories the next.
You’ll still hit your targets, just spread out.
3. Superset it.
Pair two moves that don’t fight each other, like rows and push-ups or squats and shoulder presses.
No fancy combo moves, just back-to-back sets that keep you moving and save time.
4. Make it
efficient.
- Take shorter rest breaks.
- Use fewer sets but push harder.
- Stick to compound lifts.
- Sub dumbbell movements for barbell exercises or machines.
- Keep your training sessions to 30-45 minutes!
5. Use exercise snacks.
If a full workout isn’t happening, sprinkle in mini movement sessions throughout your day.
Ten dumbbell or bodyweight squats, ten push-ups, a brisk walk, an AMRAP workout for time, or whatever works for you right at home. It all adds up.
6. Audit your
time.
Scroll less, move more. Most of us have more time than we think. It’s just hiding in our habits.
Be adaptable, adjust your expectations, and keep showing up. Consistency through busy seasons builds the kind of discipline that carries you through every season.
You don’t need perfect conditions. You just need to keep
moving, STRONG friend!
Have a wonderful weekend!!
