If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.
Are you on a journey of any kind? Do you have
any aspirations? Are you seeking fat loss, weight management, strength goals, etc? Goals like hitting 5 push-ups, doing 1 pull up, or deadlifting your body weight, just to name a few.
Just curious, as I am adding running to my weekly training schedule. Nothing crazy, right now, I am just trying to run a mile in 10 minutes or less. I don’t care for traditional cardio such as running, but
it’s sometimes necessary for races and such. I like short and sweet HIIT and Interval training. Speaking of races, I enjoy Tough Mudders and races of that kind. I am strong enough for them, but when it comes down to the running portion, I get my butt kicked.
So, since I’ve planned to continue doing adventure races, I must run. Wish me luck! The last mile I ran, I shaved 10 seconds of
the time. I was super stoked about that. All progress is good progress. As you can see, this a small goal that I decided to set because I know my limits. Like I talked about in the past, start small then work your way to the big leagues.
It’s only right that I practice what I preach. I can make it and you can make it, one step at time.
You may say “Well Candace; you can’t run a mile in 10 minutes.” – I can to a point, but not comfortably. I’m over 10 minutes and I am stopping about 3 times since I added running into the equation. Running is not my strong suit for various reasons. You know my love for lifting things is my bread and butter. I hope you fall in love with the iron, especially if your goals are to drop some fat and keep your metabolism
running great.
If you are on a journey of any sorts, enjoy the process, enjoy the journey. Like the title of email, you can make it here or anywhere.
Whether that’s fat loss or running a 5k, it’s a journey, it’s a marathon and not a sprint. You are going to learn things along the way. Habits will be
formed that you will stick with for a life time.
It will be challenging, it will be hard, and there will be days that you just won’t want to do it. And that’s okay, that’s life. It’s not a write off, it’s just a bad day. You just pick up where you left off.
Shoot, I was this close to not doing my
intervals the other day and it was only for 10 minutes. I remembered my purpose and that it was only 10 minutes. I did it, and got it done. If the decision would’ve of been not to do them, then okay – move on with no guilt, just compassion for the decision.
Again, you will get to where you want to be with time, patience, dedication, and the biggest of them all is Consistency. Day in and day
out – or at least most days.
When you have those aspirations, don’t quit, keep going. Keep those accomplishments in the forefront.
Remember if you can make it here; you can make it anywhere.
