Good morning ,
I hope your Friday and the new month is off to a good start!
I am such a gadegty person. “Gadegty” - I just made that up, lol. I love gadgets, my husband literally has to tell me No, you can’t buy anymore. You know those infommercials – as seen on
TV or something like that, I’m always like, oooh I wanna try it. The latest one that I want is this scissors thing called “Clever Cutter”. It’s basically scissors with a little cutting board attached. Check it out here and you will see why it’s a must have. It appears to make like easier when chopping stuff up. I am all about ease!
I tell ya, I’ve had several choppers and everything in between. My husband is like see this knife, this is the only gadget you need; it will replace all that crap. Lol, I’m really laughing out loud as I write this email. I am the gadget Queen! It’s not just kitchen gadgets, it’s electronics too. :D
I have some what
graduated from seeing and wanting tons of kitchen gadgets. I do have my favorite few that I want to share with you though. They make my life easier. If you don’t already know, I hate cooking and I hate cutting veggies up. So, I find things that make life easier and more convenient.
If that means veggies bought precut, steak pre chopped, or what have you, then I will do it. It may cost more upfront,
but it makes for less headache for me.
Anyhow, here are my five favorite gadgets that I am currently using:
1. Oxo Good Grips Salad Chopper and Bowl – I love this thing. I discovered this bowl from my business coach Jill. When I saw how good it chopped up the salad and how big the bowl is, I had to have it. I eat my salad right out of it – a #BAS – Big Ass Salad. Need to get a ton of veggies in at once, make it big as you can
and trim it with all your favorites. Viola! 2. Vitamix 5200 Series- This thing can cook soup! Hands down it’s the best blender I have ever owned. You can also make your own nut butters. I haven’t done that yet, but I want to. The thing can do so much. I make my shakes and smoothies in it all the time. It blends so well, just as good as getting a
smoothie at Smoothie King. I’ve tried the Ninja and a Cuisinart Blenders. They just didn’t cut it. The Vitamix chops veggies into nothing. Can’t taste kale or the spinach – another great way to add a butt load of veggies to your days totals.
The Vitamix is on the pricey side, but it’s so worth it. I’ve had mine for at least 3 years and it still works like a boss.
Coscto and Sams carry the Vitamix and Blendtec. Blendtec is just as good as Vitamix from the reviews that I have read. 3. Spiral Slicer Spiralizer – This little thing can make veggie noodles. I’ve used zucchini and yellow squash. Can’t fit much else in it. Now, I do want to upgrade to this one, because it’s bigger and can do various veggies. I just love the way it slices
veggies up, or should I say, the spiral effect. 4. French Press- If you are a coffee drinker, this thing makes a tasty cup of coffee. It presses the grounds out of the liquid pretty good. It’s also great for steeping tea.
5. George Foreman 360 Electric Non Stick Round Shaped Grill with 5 interchangeable grill plates – I love this thing. I love making quesadillas on it. We use the regular grill plates the most, we love making hot sandwiches on it.
It’s easy to clean and the plates are easy to use and change out. It’s a hit at our house. When I do cook, I like to use it. I’ve recently discovered that you can also make pizza on it. Yum!
The best part about George Foreman grills, the plates are dishwasher safe. I know in the early days, the Foreman plates were not
removable and when they made newer versions, they weren’t dishwasher safe. I had one of the originals for my college dorm and it was a pain trying to clean it.
Well that’s just a few of my favorite kitchen gadgets. What are some of your favorite kitchen or electronic gadgets?
As always, thank you for taking the time to read. Have an
amazing weekend, make time for yourself, and make sure to catch some R&R!
Yours in Strength,
Xo Candace
