Not just picking up things, but vacuuming, shoveling snow, gardening. Name any daily activity, and I bet you the deadlift will help you.
Ever hurt your back picking up something? Chances are you were bending down wrong. There is a solution to
that. Get stronger, train your core, learn to pick up stuff correctly and deadlift of course.
Not only will you be physically fit from incorporating the deadlift but your physique will respond in more ways than one.
As you have heard me say many times before, the bulk of your training should
incorporate compound movements such as deadlifts, squats, rows, chin-ups, push-ups, etc. These moves give you the best bang for your buck. Even when you're doing them with body weight.
So, go on and learn or do the deadlift more. I sometimes do 1-3 variations a week.
