You like fruit, right? I love fruit. What's your favorite fruit? - Hit Reply right to this email! I can't just pick one. If I had to pick just one, it would probably be strawberries.
I eat them, and they're my go-to fruit. Packed with so much goodness.
Believe it or not, there was a time where I ate very little fruit - #Smdh. Actually take that
back, one banana a week, per my coach, on my refeed days.
My coach at the time banned fruit; they said it had too much sugar, and that I had to cut all the sugar to see results. Throwback to around 2008-ish when I didn't know any better. Again, fruit, sugar, carbs, etc. is not bad for you. The overall consumption, eating to much of any food over your energy needs is what causes fat gain.
I wasn't detectivey (made that word up, lol) about my own unique needs, likes, and wants.
I was cutting down for a Physique competition. Still, now I know that competition prep doesn't have to be extreme and general fat loss doesn't have to be either.
Back then it never really felt right to do some of the things I thought were necessary to lose weight-
chasing that number on the scale. Truthfully, the number does not matter; it's a very small egg in the basket. It doesn't tell the whole story of our bodies or our health.
So, know about this - Fruit is not evil, it's not bad for you, and all fruits can be part of a healthy lifestyle.
Sure, we have to cut back on it because it does have calories and carbs, but you do NOT have
to completely cut it out to see results.
Remember, extremism just pushes you to want more of the food that you banned.
Quick note, if you do tend to eat a lot of fruit to blunt hunger and just can't seem to satisfy, the issue is that carbs alone digest quicker than if they are paired with a protein source.
So, eat
your proteins with your fruit. It may seem like an odd combination. I'll tell you this, when you start to make sure you have a protein source with every meal, your cravings and hunger will decrease exponentially, while your satisfaction will go thru the roof!
Try it and report back!
I wanted to share this super simple fruit bowl with you. Make sure to add a protein shake on
the side. I have been loving this snack. My friend turned me on to them while I was visiting Cali.
