Hi
I'm on my way back from a fantastic week in New Jersey; I spent some time with my amazing Coach and Mentor. Yes, coaches have coaches. We talked about my brand and the direction my biz should go and what not. I'm super excited to share some really cool things with all my followers in the next couple months.
So,
about these croutons. I do enjoy them on my salad from time to time, don't you? I don't have to have them, but they were really tasty, and I wanted them because food is food, even when it's bread. Eating carbs isn't a bad thing, and it's not morally wrong, as diet zealots portray it to be.
So the other day, I had
croutons on my salad. The salad was an Ahi Tuna Caesar Salad. Never ever, ever, eat dry ass salad, or salads that suck.
So, so good this salad was. Croutons aren't bad for you, bread isn't bad for you, and if you think it is, then I guess you're entitled to your opinion.
Croutons were the subject of the conversation for a brief moment. The conversation was centered around the fact that you can eat whatever you want. You just can't eat it all, if that makes sense.
My hope and one my driving missions that I was discussing with my coach is that I want to coach women around the whole love/hate
relationship with food. It breaks my heart to hear that some women have a hate relationship food.
Food is our lifeline; it's for enjoyment, it's for nourishment, and so much more. It shouldn't be feared or hated.
You know the You Pick 2 at Panera Bread? I love Panera by the way, not because they claim
their foods are "clean!" No food is actually clean unless you wash it with soap, lol.
So like at Panera, you pick 1 of 3, sometimes two and watch the portion sizes: carbs, alcohol - if you enjoy a cocktail or a glass of wine, or pick dessert 80% of the time. This doesn't mean that you need to be rigid in your choices; this allows you to still eat some of
your favorite things.
For example, if you love croutons pick those, and skip the extra bread that's on the table. You could also eat half the croutons and eat a piece of bread.
At the restaurant I was at the other day for lunch, I skipped wine because I was going out to dinner and we were definitely having wine at dinner. So, I made a choice that resonated with me and
one that wouldn't leave me deprived.
It's all about a little pick and choose.
Choose what you really want and then eat the wholesome things and always remember that food is not going anywhere, it's not the last supper. It will always be available. You can have it next
time.
Lastly, remember that you have the power of your food choices. It doesn't have to be all-or- nothing. It can be a little something that still aligns with your goals.
Thank you for reading, have a fabulous weekend!
Yours in Strength & Health Xo Candace
