Good morning

Mmmm.... tasty veggies

So, a couple of Friday's ago, I did a Five Fitness Friday Favorites review of a few things I'm loving right now. I thought I share with my tribe here via email in case you missed the Facebook Live.

In the video, I shared a couple of my go-to veggie sources. {Video Below}πŸ‘‡πŸΎ

It's hard to get veggies in, isn't it? They can be a hassle to cook right? Sometimes, sure. Or downright inconvenient. Or just easy to forget to eat, because all the other foods are more convenient to eat.

I caught myself not eating enough veggies recently. Life has been busy. I've often been traveling. I was like, how the heck can I get more veggies in easily without prep being a nuisance? I love veggies, and I actually crave them.

So, I came up with some simple solutions.

1. Convenience options:

I've been buying mini bell peppers and already washed fresh green beans. No prep time. Bite into the mini bell pepper and throw the top away or cut the tops off when you are ready to eat.

The green beans have been super convenient. The other day, I just grabbed the whole bag to take with me on the road. They are fresh and tasty.
Broccoli is another go-to quick and easy veggie, I think. Prep is super simple, and it's really quick if you like to eat it raw. I like it steamed though. Do whatever works for you and what gets you eating more vegetables.

Salad mixes already chopped and cut. I love this kale salad blend. All I do is grab a bowl full, throw some pre-cut onions, a sprinkle of cheese, and some dressing and grub down. Prep time is literally less than 5 minutes.
The grocery stores have so many varieties of different salad mixes; I've been picking my Kale blend up at Costco.

Lastly, if you don't mind spending the extra money for pre-cut or chopped veggies, then go for it. Do whatever makes life a bit easier on most days of the week.

2. Every single time I eat out, I always start with a salad. It's pretty much a non-negotiable for me. I also may double the veggies with my meal, and make sure it's steamed with no oils or butter. I do this so I can put the butter on to my liking, if I so desire.

3. Make sure to prep a few easy to grab veggie options.

If you have the time or if you don't, find the time. If you think it's crazy to buy pre-cut veggies, then make the time to prep a few sources a few times a week.

For instance, the mini bell peppers or regular bell peppers can be cut up in advance. Chop all your broccoli up ahead of time, so, all you have to do is steam it. I also love the Ziploc Steamer Bags.
They are super convenient. Just put your veggies in the bag and pop it in the microwave, voila, you have steamed veggies in a jif!

4. Start your day with some veggies- it's like getting a jump start on my veggie game for the day There are one or two servings right off the back right at the outset of the day. Winning!Β

Oh, and the Nourish Bowls featured in the video are so good! I've tried all the flavors. They are so good. Be sure to add a protein source to it, but you are covered on the veggie front.

They are little on the pricey side, but if ease is your jam, then you will love them. I've had them for a quick lunch throughout the week. I try to buy them when they are buy one get one free. They run about 4.99 per bowl.
