Time is precious, isn't it?!

Published: Sun, 07/16/17

Good morning,

We don't have time to train, and we don't have to spend hours in the gym or training forever to get the results that we want. We have to prioritize how we use our precious time!

When time is of the essence, we have two options when it comes to workouts.

We can throw in the towel and say eff it, if I can't train at this time or for this long then I'm not going to do it. #AllorNothing

or

We can find a way because we all have the time, it just depends on how we want to use it. We can carve out the time if it's a priority.

It's a priority for me, even if it's a quickie jump rope session, 10 minutes of kettlebell swings, or even a 5 -8-minute yoga session.

Just a walk can suffice at the end of the day when life is cray cray! Don't get me wrong; I'm a lover of lifting the things and training in the gym, but like at this very moment, my regular training sessions have been put on the back burner, however not abandoned altogether.

If you don't know, at this very moment as I am typing this, I am traveling to Alaska pulling a 5th Wheel sitting, my butt is hurting, lol. I am trippin around the US with my hubby and my pup.

I will definitely find a way to move, because sitting for so long creates so many issues with our bodies, from tight hips, to achy backs, and rounded shoulders. No Bueno!

So, training has been short and sweet, even when we had a chance to train at a gym…couldn’t train at the RV because it was 100 degrees out.  However, we still kept it short - In and out in a jiff because time is precious

This is where SummerSlamDown workouts come into play. Short, effective, and efficient. You can literally pick anyone of the workouts you want, and get a quick lifting session in, even when life is busy.

Keeping your fitness game going through busy seasons of life will keep you grounded, keep your stress down, and prevent a bunch fat gain before you return to your normal training regimen.

See, the thing is, you don’t have to keep starting and stopping your fitness during busy seasons of your life, because there’s always gonna be something disrupting our schedules.

The better option is to ADJUST, not quit, but Adjust. Adjust your training schedule, adjust the workouts, and adjust your nutrition.

I literally did some 15-minute circuits several times at my moms a few times a week when I was visiting my mom in Michigan. Why? Because time was of the essence; I still wanted to sweat and lift the things. I simply ADJUSTED my training and made do with the time that I had available. Because #AntiPerfection and that something is better than nothing.

At the end of the day, it comes down to perfection. It's one of the many things that keeps people down. Back to my earlier statement- the all or nothing mindset. It's either all or it’s nothing. That mentality really breaks my heart, because I know what it's like, it's a miserable way to go about fitness and nutrition. You will never get where you want to be, an endless cycle of stopping and starting.

Just simply ADJUST for the time being!

This is one of the reasons that I created Summer Slam Down. Summer Slam Down is the solution to still getting a great workout in, even when life is cray cray. We really do have the time to keep at our fitness game, but we don’t have to spend hours upon hours in the gym to see progress.
