I used to be scared to eat eggs.......

Good morning , Happy Friday!

How do you like your eggs? Me? Pretty much all the ways, I would have to say. Boiled eggs would be my least favorite. I still eat them though, because it's quick protein, but not too many. I swear they make you super gassy when they are hard boiled. Could be all in my head.

Eggs are probably one of those foods that I could eat every day!

Lol, and no, don't go thinking I'm calling it a Superfood (that's voodoo quackery). All foods are superfoods - if I enjoy it, like it, supports my goals, gives me good energy, etc... - it's a superfood, lol.

Eggs are so good for us! Even the whole thing, the yolk and all. Gasp. Yep, I said it.

I know the script is always being flipped back and forth whether to eat the whole egg or not. It's fear mongering at its finest. The yolks have so much goodness in them; it's crazy not to eat them, unless of course you don't like them, never eat foods that you don't like or that don't agree with you!  All things in moderation, and of course moderation is a practice that takes time to hone. I don't like the alternative - been there, done that, and it doesn't enhance one's life.
On the real tip though, for a very long time, I was scared to eat them for the same reasons that you probably were lead to believe.

I was told they had too much fat - that fat would make me fat. They were also high in cholesterol and that the whole egg would instantly clog up my arteries.

When I started to add whole eggs back into my diet, nothing happened. I didn't instantly gain weight; I didn't get high cholesterol.

I was missing out on the glory of eggs! They're so good, right?! The biggest thing is that I had nothing to fear or be scared of.

Eggs were one of the ways that I started introducing foods back into my diet after ditching the yo-yo dieting and the dieting mentality.

It was so freeing! #FoodFreedom

Just to ease your mind, even more, let me break down the macros of an egg for ya:
One large egg has 74 Calories, 5g of Fat, 0g of Carbs, and 6g of Protein.

You see as far as macros go, you won't be breaking the macro or calorie bank!

You have nothing to worry about, unless you have a history of high cholesterol.

Don't believe me? More on that here:

Don't be scared to eat eggs; I'm not saying eat a whole carton in one sitting, but 1-2 a day will do no harm. Then throw some egg whites in to up the Protein content. On that note, ever notice, when you only eat egg whites you are not truly satisfied? Something to ponder. Eat your yolks and move on with life.

Lastly, eating whole eggs is an excellent source of healthy fats that are so good for so many processes in the body! There are a plethora of vitamins in eggs. Eggs also can aid in the production of the good cholesterol (HDL). A big one for me is the Omega 3's, which should be your concern as well. We lack in Omega 3's big time if you don't eat a lot of fish.

Eat your eggs girlfriend! Well, if you like them. Never eat foods that you do do not like or enjoy. We can figure out how to get what you need from other food sources.
