Happy Thursday! How's it going in your neck of the woods? I am doing well, can't complain. I am thrilled to finally finish a project that I have been working on
for some time now. Doesn't it feel good to finish something?! It's been a labor of love, and I can't wait to share with Y'all.
It will soon pop up in your inbox, and you'll see the promotion of it on Social media as well, so
stayed for that!
So, let's talk about the eff it's!
First...
I almost said eff it with my project. It was so much work! I'm glad I didn't quit. I kept going and looking back at how far I’ve come with it, it’s been a huge accomplishment! It took getting comfortable with the
uncomfortable, and I kept getting back up on the horse!
How many times have you said eff it when you fell off the proverbial “track”? Or just eff it in general when things don't fit into our perfect little
boxes?
Too many to count?! Don't feel bad about it; you are not alone. Many women that I work with have had this mindset at one point or another, myself included. I’m working through it right
now with a client.
Here a few situations where the Eff it's might come in:
- Can't get an hour workout in - well then, I'm not doing it! - This used to be me, big time! -
The all or nothing mentality.
- Ate the whole pizza, so I might as well take the weekend off and start on Monday!
- Ate too much, so I'm not gonna
eat the rest of the day.
I could go on and on, but you get the point.
The eff it's, the all or nothing mindset, the perfection chasing gets us nothing.
It keeps us stuck and paralyzes us. It holds us down to the point to where we look up, and 6 months later we have not achieved what we set out to do. Then we’re saying that we will start on Jan. 1st!
Now, I must say, you may not have been able to stick to what you were doing because it was too extreme, which is why you fell off in the first place - which is a lengthy subject for another time. You get the point though.
I love this quote in regards to the subject at hand:
"Giving
up on your Goal because of one set back Like Slashing your other tire because you got one flat!"
How dumb is that? We would not slash our other tire when we get a flat now, would we? Same goes for our goals and such - improving our health, nutrition, fitness, etc...
don't let one small set back cancel out the distance you've already come - mmmk, just don't.
Know
this...
All is never lost!
One nutrition mishap is not the end!
Missed workouts don't mean you're lazy and will always be out of
shape.
So, you can't get your normal workout in. What can you do instead with the time that you have available?
We DO NOT need to be punishing ourselves for overeating by skipping meals or doing marathon workouts.
You know what ? We can get right back on the proverbial “Track”, or the horse at the very next opportunity. And you keep doing that when you have a mishap. Pick up right where you left off and evaluate why
you keep falling off and do things differently.
Remember the E.A.T acronym that I shared with you a few emails ago? You can apply it to this stuff as well. Check the E.A.T. method out
here!
- E.A.T. stands for Evaluate, Adjust, Try again or Try it out!
You're gonna make mistakes; you'll eat too much some days, maybe even too little, you'll miss a workout or two. Again, all is not lost!
I want you to know what matters most is Consistency, not Perfection, not saying Eff it.
Show up and keep doing that. What do you most of the time is what matters most!
That's all I have to say about
that!
Thank you for reading, I hope you have a great Thursday. As always, if you have anything to share, wins, success, struggles, reply back to this email and share away. I love hearing from you!
