I got a few replies about it being shocking that there really are no magical properties to it, it's a not a cure-all, and that the claims are negligible at best such as improving gut health, clearing your skin, inflammation, etc.
It's really Voodoo Quackery at its finest!
I asked one the ladies that responded to my story if she had any of the supposed benefits of drinking it and she said: "No, I have not!"
My STRONG friend, you have to look at these things with a side eye.
Don't be duped.
I know it can be so confusing with all the misleading and conflicting information out there about nutrition. ALWAYS look at things with a side eye, question it, educate yourself, and don't hop on it with a blindfold just because Sally is doing it.
Sure, eat or drink it if you like, but it's not doing anything special or magical just because it's juiced. It, of course, does have vitamins - K, C, potassium, antioxidants, etc. All good things for us!
There is NO scientific evidence to any of it - ya know all the claims that you've been hearing in the social media land or your favorite celebrity.
What to do instead for improving your nutrition, gut health, health, skin, inflammation, etc...
Eat more REAL Foods more often than not. Eat more vegetables, in general, with the fiber intact, drink plenty of water, etc. and do it consistently and watch what happens.
And a note on juicing in general. I use to juice, until I became aware that I was losing all the good stuff from juicing….ya know, the fiber? As soon as I discovered that, I stopped juicing.
Sure it's refreshing and can be quite tasty, but we are stripping all the goodness out. Plus, it's a lot of work to Juice and takes a lot of fruits and veggies to make enough juice, and ain't nobody got time for that, lol! 🤣
I'm sure a lot of us thought it would be a great way to get more vegetables in – sure, to a degree, but IMO, not really.
So, if you do juice make sure you eat that Fiber that's left behind too.
Another great way to actually keep all the goodness is to blend the vegetables into a smoothie. I actually like this much better. You'll need a powerful blender to get it to a great consistency. Blend your celery into a smoothie with other fruits and veggies so that you don't lose the fiber!
Again, don't strip your fruits and veggies of their fiber - if you do, you're losing out on the benefit. Furthermore, eating Fiber helps to move food through our systems and helps to feed the good bacteria in our guts.
Lastly, my STRONG friend, when you're eating well, eating less processed stuff, your whole body, inside and out will be better. You don't need to hop on the latest fads that have no merit!
Thank you for reading. Until next time, Eat The Things, and Lift The Things!
