When's the last time you took a compliment without a "but?"
Or we respond, “this old thing" In reference to someone saying something looks good on you.
Or totally dismiss the compliment altogether.
We women can be SO critical.
We are quick to dismiss compliments.
We don't celebrate our wins enough either.
We tend to focus on the negative, or what's not going well, because heaven forbid, we celebrate what we have accomplished so far.
We can't celebrate until we get where we want to be. Am I right?!
I am still working on this myself - every single day! I've been working on not coming back with any response but "thank you!" No if’s, but’s or dismissals.
I believe your journey will be much enjoyable and sustainable if you celebrate where you are, how far you've come, and the accomplishments that you have achieved so far.
Same goes for fat loss or whatever goal you’re working on. You've been consistent, you're getting stronger, you're making better choices, you're getting your 10k steps a day, etc.
DON'T dismiss it. Don't disqualify your achievements!
ALL Progress is progress!
STRONG friend, celebrate your wins, your accomplishments, etc. Practice gratitude every single day. Doing so will help to change your mindset for the better, and help appreciate yourself even more.
I practice gratitude almost every day. I have a journal to write them in, and when I don’t, I make sure I do it mentally. Try it, you'll be glad you did!
Thanks for reading ! I hope you are well and have a wonderful weekend. Be sure to take the compliment and celebrate your wins/progress no matter how small.
Love you!
In Strength,
Candace
