Happy Fri-yay to ya. I hope this email finds you well.
I'm popping in with some Travel/Holiday Tips.
I'm on a work/vacation trip with some of my girlfriends from my business mentorship, and we just wrapped our in-person mastermind with our incredible coach. We spent time diving deep into our businesses, connecting, networking, and of course had plenty of fun/playtimes.
So, I wanted to share some tips on how to navigate travel/vacation and the holidays.
The holidays are here, and it seems to be the time that a lot of folks backslide. Do you struggle during the holidays?! Hit reply and let me know.
Alrighty, let's dive in:
Workouts are one of the things that get thrown right out the door during busy times of life, whether it's the holidays, travel, etc. My solution for this is to remind yourself that something is better than nothing.
Adjust your expectations, adjust the workout itself so that you can fit in. The utmost importance is to be flexible.
That may mean taking your workout and supersetting the exercises, doing it in a circuit fashion for 3-5 rounds, or setting a timer for the time that you have available - 20, 30, of 40 minutes - once the timer beeps, you are done.
It's really that simple; you don't have to abandon your workouts during busy times of life unless, of course, you want to. The choice is yours, and that's fine - you just have to be fine with it and don't shame or guilt yourself.
I'm willing to guess you want to continue to lift because you enjoy it, and during the holidays, I know for me it's a huge stress reliever.
Ditch the perfectionism and the all-or-nothing, and if you do that, you can BE CONSISTENT!!
Here's a quick and short workout that will get you in and out of the gym or in and out of your living room/garage gym in jiff!
It's a workout with minimal equipment!
Second, let's speak to the nutrition piece. This can be a struggle for many folks; myself included at one time.
The holidays would be my binge for all, and then when January 1st rolled around, I'd be doing a crash diet like everyone else.
I said enough was enough. It doesn't have to be that way, nor should it be.
There is a sweet spot with treats, indulgences, eating your greens, and stuff just like I mentioned above with your fitness.
Navigate the middle, navigate the grey, and you'll walk into 2020 with your fitness and nutrition intact, plus you'll be THRIVING!
If you have built healthy habits all year long, keep them going during the holidays, during travel, during vacation, etc. Don't just throw them out the window!
Be picky with your indulgences - if it ain't good, don't feel obligated to eat it.
Sample, taste the dish before you commit to the foods at the event or family gathering.
My tips are to get in veggies when you can. This trip that I am on, I've ordered them anytime that they were available. I also make sure that I have protein with every meal. I also seek out smoothies - load them babies up with berries and spinach or whatever fruit/veggie combo you like and add protein powder.
Keep it Simple, and it will be Sustainable throughout the holidays, etc.
If you screw it up, overeat, etc., remember all is not lost. Simply pick up right where you left off. Don't slash all the other tires, okay, or you'll arrive to Wednesday, January 1st doing what you've done every year. I know that's not what you want.
