So, I hope this Thanksgiving you are at peace with food - and if you're not, keep working on your relationship with food. It will get better with time!
And here are a few Thanksgiving reminders to remember:
- Enjoy yourself! Savor your food! Eat what you love and never feel guilty nor shameful about your choices.
- You don't need to earn or burn your foods.
- It's okay to say "no, thank you" too food pushers. It's not up to you to manage other's feelings.
- Be 100% present with your family, friends, and loved ones. Don't stress about the food, don't let it take away from the joyous time with your family!
Now, if you want to train i.e. #LiftTheThings then do so because you love it and it makes you feel better, keeps you sane, and because it's truly a gift to move, then do so. A walk is just fine too! I just hope that you are not doing it as a form of punishment!
Here's a quickie 15 minute Metabolic Conditioning Circuit if you want, again, not because you have to but because you get to, movement is a gift!
All you need is one Kettlebell. If you don't have a Kettlebell, a dumbbell works too!
Swing City
- Set a timer for 15 or 20 minutes. Once the timer goes off, you are done!
- Adjust the reps according the weight of your kettlebell.
- Rest at the bottom of the circuit. Adjust your rest according to your fatigue level - you may need longer or shorter. Train with good form!!
1. 5-10 KB Goblet Squats
2. 10 KB Swings
3. 15 Pop Squats {Other options - Prisoner Squats, Bodyweight Squats, New Jacks, or Jump Squats}
Lastly, remember what the Holidays are all about- creating memories, spending time with your family, friends, and just enjoying life.
