How are you today?! I hope all is well and that you and your loved ones are healthy as well.
I’m doing pretty good over here in my neck of the woods! I can’t wait to see where this Corona situation takes us. I’m so hopeful that it will be over sooner, rather than later!
Jeff and I are in Alabama now; we were able to secure another beautiful campground. We were evicted, lol, from a state park in TN. All TN state campground grounds have closed due to Covid-19.
The whole Coronavirus Quarantine situation has displaced a lot of full-time Rvers!

Anywoodle…
Let’s hop into today’s chat.
Is your motivation pretty low right now? Or, maybe you’re not too sure how to navigate this new "normal!"
It’s hard to get things going, or probably even challenging to get yourself moving, lifting, walking, working from home, etc. Right?!
Totally normal, btw, especially if you are not used to being home all day, mind you all day, every day for the foreseeable future- working from home - having the kids at home all day, etc.
It’s a lot to handle and deal with. The uncertainty of what we are going through is all so frustrating!
I’ve been working from home for a while now, but it was a significant adjustment, and now I’m readjusting again with the Corona Quarantine, just like you.
However, I do have a few tools under my belt since I’ve been working from home for a good while now to help with productivity, or as I like to say GSD (getting shit or stuff done), whichever floats your boat.
We can’t control the Coronavirus, but there are some things that we have CONTROL over!
First, my STRONG friend give yourself some grace. Leave the shame and guilt at the door if your intended schedule hasn’t gone as planned. No one knew this was coming or how it would change our lives in more ways than one!
Second, I believe I mentioned in my last email about building yourself a new routine or sticking to what you can from your regular routine before the Coronavirus!
Of course, it won’t 100% look like it used to be, but think about the pieces of your routine/schedule that you can keep going to create normalcy and consistency.
For me….
I had to build this up. It took time, but I am so glad I did.
- I make my bed just about every day. I’m also making it a point to get up each day around the same time. Now, my bedtime is still a work in progress, but I am conscious of it.
- I get myself ready like I am leaving home to go to work, even if I'm just getting out of my pj’s, showering, and putting on some athleisure wear.
I do have FaceTime/Zoom calls with my clients, so I do have to be somewhat presentable, and I want to be, because I just feel better. This was a huge piece for me - getting ready like I still worked outside of my home - well, my home on wheels!
- I do a bit of make-up, lol, I feel naked now if I don’t fill my eyebrows in and put some mascara on.
- I go on a 20-30-minute leisure walk with the hubs and pups.
- I do my gratitude practice - journaling, and I read a devotion.
- And, then it’s about time for my morning clients!
So, on and so forth.
Third, my favorite thing to do is write a three things list instead of a lofty ten things-to-do list.
JUST 3 things that I want to get accomplished during the day. If I get the three done, then I can do more, and that’s a bonus. I like to write them out the night before, and then I tackle them the next day.
Wanna talk about kissing overwhelm bye-bye, it will be gone with this tool, and you'll have the receipts to know what you actually accomplished during the day!
Try it and let me know how it goes!
Fourth, if you’re working from home now, install News Feed Eradicator for Facebook onto your desktop so that you don’t get caught up scrolling all day long. This is a game-changer. The FB eradicator will block your feed for the time that you set, and you can’t undo it. Your productivity will go through the roof!
You can also set up app limits on your phone. You’ll have to have someone set the password so that you can't undo it and scroll away. I know under screen time on Apple Devices, setting this up is super easy.
One of the things that I do is leave my phone out of my office. If it’s sitting on my desk, I don’t know about you, but I will pick it up and be scrolling away into the abyss.
Fifth, still get your lift on, move your body, get outside, etc. You may just have to adapt, adjust, modify, and improvise it!
It doesn’t have to perfect, and it’s probably gonna look different if you are used to getting your lift on at the gym, but I am making do because I know that the situation, we are in is temporary.
Lastly, but certainly not least, still connect with people. Reach out to your friends and family via video chats. This has been so fun connecting via video with my friends and family. I’m like I need to do this more often!
Lastly, lastly, I’ve opened up some slots for virtual group workouts 3x a week M, W, F at 10:30 am CST. If you need some guidance, structured workouts, missing the connection, and want to stay consistent during these crazy times, I got you.
