Whereas a carb source, such as a Russet potato, has MOSTLY carbs.
So, go ahead, cut out all carbs; you'll be cutting all the wholesome carbs out too.
A little side note...
It's not really smart to ban whole food groups, or even chips. Chips can be enjoyed from time to time.
And if you say, Candace, "I can't control myself around chips!"
Well, STRONG friend, that's because you have allowed chips to have the power. You have restricted them so much - to the point that when you do have them, you binge on them.
Take the chips off the pedestal and allow yourself to have them. Because if you don't, you will be controlled by the chips until you say enough is enough. They have the power because you're giving it power. PERIODT!
Anywhoolde...
Before we move on, let me make something crystal clear 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁. 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱... 𝗶𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲.
Foods can be less nutritious and more nutritious, they fall on a continuum, but they're not bad or good. That language will have you fall straight down the disordered eating vortex!
𝗘𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 ole 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝗯𝗮𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻.
No duh, we should be eating more nutritious foods, but those fun foods have their place!
It's not smart to cut carbs out completely. You won't be able to sustain it for long!
Again, 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗙𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 - 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗳𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗯𝘀 𝗼𝗿 𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮, which adds up pretty fast and is very easy to eat bc you never really get full from chips.
Chips, cookies, pizza, pastries, cakes, donuts, etc., are high in both carbs and fats; very high calories.
Now, on the other hand, potatoes are very filling - pretty high on the satiety index. 𝗧𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗲𝘀; 𝗜’𝗹𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁!
As mentioned above about russet potatoes, they are nutritiously dense, low in calories, and have very little fat.
So, what I'm getting at here is that you shouldn't be cutting out entire food groups cause if you are cutting out carbs, you are cutting out wholesome ones, like potatoes, oatmeal, veggies, etc.
Also, another thing that grinds my nerves is women saying they gave up all carbs.... so are you giving up vegetables? You're not gonna eat any veggies for the rest of your life? FYI, vegetables are carbs.
No cake on your birthday or your kid's/grandkids birthday, no sandwiches ever, none of your favorite cookies on Christmas?
Hmmmmm...
I'm willing to guess; you are gonna enjoy these things from time to time because what is life without enjoying foods that you love and enjoy!
So, with that said, STRONG, friend, learn about what you are eating, be rational, and don't just blindly cut things out of your diet!
Carbs are part of a well-rounded, balanced diet! Even the less nutritious ones. Even your favorite chips! My favorite chips are Doritos!
What are your favorite chips? Your favorite chips can fit; all foods fit. Once you learn this, you will have a better relationship with food and not feel so out of control around food.
Just my 2 cents!
Well, STRONG friend, thank you for reading! Have lovely rest of your week!
